Stacker Safety System
Problem
The client has a hydraulic stacker with its only safety measure being a hard guard around the perimeter. This does not protect the operator of possible risks scenarios.
Solution
PC&E implemented a new safety system complaint with OSHA machine safety standards. The safety system consists of lasers scanners to prevent the machine from moving if there is someone inside of the stacker area, light curtains that stop the stacker if someone trespasses them, emergency stop buttons distributed around the machine, and an HMI that provides operators with information regarding the state of the safety system.
